Snow

14 01 2012

Eloise has been thrilled with the snow we recently received. She’s been asking to go out to shovel nonstop. I finally convinced her to leave the back driveway and go all the way to the park where it would be way more fun to play. It was.

Then again, she enjoyed just a tiny but of snow almost as much.

Floating

2 01 2012

A new years day float in a big tub.
After waffles for breakfast and some impromptu afternoon gelato AND mixing up some granola bars (all very sticky things…)

New year.

1 01 2012

We went out for a lovely early diner dinner at 5:00 tonight. And ordered Eloise chocolate chip pancake sticks. They looked delicious, but of course weren’t exactly plain. So now we are home having another dinner. It’s been a really eventful year. Looking forward to the next, all settled in and living in this wonderful house, fantastic neighborhood, with great jobs and great opportunities for all three of us.

Michigan Avenue Lights

20 11 2011

We ventured downtown with zillions of other people to watch Mickey and Minnie light up Michigan Avenue. Eloise first fell asleep. Then woke up and was really excited to see the spotlights. The best part? Free candy and hot cocoa at the Ritz Carlton.

Halloween!

3 11 2011

Weezy wants to be Buzz for every Halloween from now on. She also wants to trick or treat every day. This year she didn’t say trick or treat to any of those strangers, even if she did enjoy her candy. Maybe next year!

Eloise gets a soccer ball

22 10 2011

Eloise got a new soccer ball. And I got a new phone that will actually take pictures of Eloise in motion. Maybe this means more updates to her blog? Only time will tell. There is lots to update on! For now, look at this growing girl doing a pretty good job kicking (or carrying) her new ball around. In what will one day be her elementary school field.

eloise rolling down a hill and enjoying daylight

22 09 2011

Last weekend we took Eloise to Naperville to have dinner/cake for her birthday.  You’ve got that right folks.  We already did that, but weezy gets 2 celebrations.  That’s how it is.  This time we were able to celebrate her birthday with her aunts, uncles, and cousins.  While dinner was being fixed we went outside to take advantage of the daylight while we still had it.  Apparently it gets dark here in Chicago by about 430pm.  Whilst playing outside Eloise’s cousin Meghan taught her how to roll down a hill.  It was pretty much Eloise’s favorite part of the day.  Next to the presents and cake.

Eloise’s 3rd birthday.  Here it go.  My parents came up to visit our new home in Chicago/visit weezy for her birthday.  We rode the train downtown (still one of Eloise’s favorite things to do) and did tourist type things all day.

Here’s Eloise making a birthday wish at Lurie Garden in Millennium Park.

After looking at the bean and lunch at Fox and Obel we topped off the downtown portion of our birthday with a trip to the top of the John Hancock Center.

Wait folks, there’s cake.  We took the train back home (has anyone mentioned that Eloise loves taking the train?) and had cake.  Nanny and Poppa from Naperville met us back at the house and all the nannies and poppas ate cake with me, Amy, and Eloise.  It was a nice 3rd birthday for her.
